Let’s be upfront about this one. The Bianca is Lelit’s top of the range home machine, and its standout feature is a small wooden lever on top that lets you control the water flow by hand while your coffee brews. That’s a genuinely advanced feature, the kind of thing a barista uses to fine tune a shot once they already know what they’re chasing.
If you’re still learning, you won’t need to touch that lever for a while, and that’s completely fine. Leave it where the machine sets it, and the Bianca brews excellent coffee on its own, thanks to the same two boiler setup as the Elizabeth (one for coffee, one for steam, so both run at once) plus its own temperature control for each. The lever is there for later, once you’ve got a few months of pulling shots behind you and want to start experimenting with how a shot tastes when you slow down the water at the start, or ease off it at the end.
Where it earns its price for a learner is everything around that lever. It won’t let your coffee run out mid shot if the water tank runs low, it tracks your pour so your dose is repeatable, and you can plug it in to update its software rather than replacing the machine down the track. It’s built to be the last machine you buy, not just the next one.
If you know you want to get properly into this hobby and don’t want to upgrade again in two years, this is worth the conversation. Come see it and pull a shot in our Keswick showroom, and we’ll be straight with you about whether it’s the right starting point or whether the Elizabeth or Mara X makes more sense while you’re still learning. It’s backed by our own authorised Lelit repair and warranty service, right here in Adelaide, and buying it from us includes a 2 year warranty with labour included.
